Beyoncé Giselle Knowles was born September 4, 1981 under the Virgo sign. Raised in Houston, Texas, she developed her singing and dancing skills as early as eight years old by enrolling in several performing arts schools. In the late 1990s, she was the lead singer of R&B all-girl group Destiny's Child, which became one of the best selling music groups of all time.
Carrying the perfectionist trait of a Virgo, Knowles was rumoured to often clash with her band mates. People who worked with her saw a bossy figure who demands nothing but the best, which is a strong Virgo quality. After several years of top selling albums and record breaking singles, the group disbanded in 2000.
In an interview months after promoting herself as a solo artist, Knowles admitted that she experienced depression from negative attacks by the media, deteriorating relationships with her former group, and split-up with long-term boyfriend whom she was with for almost ten years. Her depression lasted for years and got to a point where she locked herself in bed for days without eating anything. During her lowest point, Knowles focused her attention to her family. Using Virgo’s strong personality and analytical mind, she bounced back with numerous number one singles and lead movie roles.
After reviving her musical career as a solo artist, Knowles started dating hip-hop mogul Jay-Z. Respecting her talents and headstrong qualities, Jay-Z allowed her to experiment with her creativity and worked in the background. Their combined talents and musical genius created several Billboards hit singles including the song "03 Bonnie & Clyde".
Like all Virgos, Knowles was extremely discreet in handling her relationship. She was able to publicly hide her marriage with Jay-z until it became official in April 22, 2008. Although they are both international superstars, the ceremony was kept private and organized just like the way Virgos want their relationships.
