Jimmy Carter Born October 1, 1924 under the Libra sign, James Earl "Jimmy" Carter, Jr. was the 39th President of the United States serving from 1977 to 1981. Before holding the top spot in government, he served as a Governor of Georgia, and was eventually elected as a Georgia State Senator from 1971 to 1975. Due to his excellent contributions to humanity, he became the only US President to be given the prestigious Nobel Peace Prize in 2002. Libra is known for his impeccable social skills and ability to deal with any kind of people. Like all Libras, Carter was naturally born to be an effective leader and diplomat.
Even at a very young age, Jimmy exhibited intellectual skills and was a gifted student who always had a thing for reading. Aside from having a gifted mind, he was also an athletic buff and a high school basketball star. After finishing high school, Carter enrolled at Georgia Southwestern College in Americus. In 1943, he entered the United States Naval Academy while taking additional mathematics courses at Georgia Tech. He graduated 59th out of 820 midshipmen from the Naval Academy.
In 1946, Jimmy married long-time partner Rosalynn Smith. Like his political career, Jimmy valued his romantic relationship. He developed a very close and loving relationship with his family, sharing and trusting his emotions with them. Their marriage was blessed with four children: John William "Jack" Carter , James Earl "Chip" Carter III, Donnel Jeffrey "Jeff" Carter, and Amy Lynn Carter.
Throughout his career, Jimmy was an advocate of human rights. Working with his wife, he founded that Carter Center in 1982, a nongovernmental, not-for-profit organization that works to advance human rights. Libra loves to help and please other people to earn their trust and respect. By doing good things, Libra can fulfill his need to be loved constantly. In addition, Carter was a primary contributor of the Habitat for Humanity project, and also helped on the Israeli-Palestinian conflict.
