Mel Colm-Cille Gerard Gibson or more famously “Mel” Gibson was born on January 3, 1956. Born in Peekskill, New York, the famous actor, producer and director was the 6th of 11 Children born to Hutton Gibson and Anne Patricia. When Gibson was 12 years old, the family moved to New South Wales in Australia, mainly due to economic reasons and to avoid his eldest son from being drafted during the Vietnam War. In Sydney, Australia, Gibson finished his studies at the University of New South Wales.
After College; Gibson started his acting career on small stage productions and doing minor roles in TV shows. His break in the big screen was when he was chosen to be Mark Rockatansky (the main character) in Mad Max (1979). His portrayal of a futuristic cop, seeking revenge for the murder of his family by a notorious biker gang, made him known worldwide. Gibson’s success in the Australian film industry came one after the other. The movie “Tim” (1979) garnered him an award in Australia and made him a celebrity.
Though born and raised in a catholic family, professing himself as a devout Catholic, and seen by many as a professional individual, Gibson’s personal life was otherwise. In 1980, Mel Gibson married Robyn Denise Moore a dental nurse he met during the filming of Mad Max. Out of their love came seven children (one daughter and six sons), but after 26 years of marriage, because of Gibson’s attitude and the “irreconcilable differences” the couple encountered, the marriage ended in divorce. After the divorce, Gibson found love in Oksana Grigorieva a Russian pianist, but it soon ended in failure.
Gibson is an Aquarius that tends to have attitudes that are somewhat hard to understand. Though they genuinely express their feelings and honestly strive to be that ideal person that everyone liked, they become otherwise. To love an Aquarius one must have an unlimited reservoir of understanding and unconditional love to give.
